Recipe: Cauli-Pili Mash

Cauliflower is a brilliant low-carb alternative to potatoes, and they contain lots of phytonutrients too! Served as a lighter alternative to mash potatoes.

This recipe is:







  • 450g cauliflower, chopped into florets

  • 60g Pili Pushers Unsalted pili nuts

  • 24g water

  • ¼ teaspoon Himalayan pink salt

  • Pinch of black pepper

  • Optional

  • 2-3 cloves of roasted garlic

  • 1 teaspoon fresh chopped thyme


    1. Fill a large saucepan with about an inch or two of water and insert a steamer basket

    2. Bring the water to a boil, and add the cauliflower florets into the basket

    3. Steam for 7 to 8 minutes or until fork tender

    4. Blend pili nuts, Himalayan pink salt and water until it forms a smooth fluffy cream

    5. Add drained cauliflower florets (optional: add garlic too) into the pili nut cream and continue to blend till combined and smooth

    6. Sprinkle thyme and black pepper
