Natural Beeswax (Food-grade)
Food grade beeswax, unbleached.
The colour varies between batches, and that is the point. Bleached wax looks uniform because something was done to it. This has not been treated, so the shade shifts with the season and the hive.

Food grade Apis cerana beeswax, melted at low temperatures to keep its natural properties intact. Unbleached and unfiltered, with no additives. This is the same wax we use in our Leather Care, and it is the raw material for a lot of things you might otherwise buy in a jar.
- Melted low and slow, so nothing is stripped out
- Unbleached and unfiltered, with no additives
- Food grade, so it can go near food and skin
- One block covers a lot of different projects
Anyone making their own things. Beeswax food wraps, lip balm, salves, candles, furniture polish, waxed thread. Also a good starting point for school holiday projects.
Ingredients: natural beeswax. Net weight 125g.
Grate or chop it first so it melts evenly. Melt it in a double boiler, or a heatproof bowl over simmering water. Do not heat it directly in a pan.
For beeswax wraps, melt it onto cotton in a low oven and spread it thin. Want more ideas? Twenty or so things to do with a block of beeswax.
What is the melting point?
Around 62 to 64°C. Keep it well below smoking point.
Can I eat it?
It is food grade, so incidental contact with food is fine. It is not meant to be eaten on its own.
Is this the same wax as in your Leather Care?
Yes, the same food grade Apis cerana beeswax.
Why is it yellow and not white?
Because we have not bleached it. White beeswax has been chemically bleached.
